PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a handwritten picture or character and an image, e.g. a photograph image, while compounding easily. SOLUTION: The printer 10 comprises a scanner 12 for reading out a picture, or the like, written on the inside of a predetermined frame of a reading print medium, a data processing section 32 for converting the picture, or the like, written on the inside of the predetermined frame and read out by means of the scanner 12 into digital data and for making transparent the marginal part on the inside of the predetermined frame, a section 14 for inputting digital data becoming a print object, a section 36 for compounding the picture, or the like, converted into digital data and the digital data becoming a print object, and a print section comprising a carriage motor 18 printing on a print medium based on the data compounded at the data compounding section 36, a print head unit 20 and a motor 22.
