PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for immobilizing a compound having an affinity for a cell membrane in a desired pattern on the solid-phase surface. SOLUTION: The method for immobilization is to immobilize the cell 20 in the desired pattern on the solid-phase surface 10 by using a first compound 14 having an affinity for the cell. There is provided the method comprising at least an immobilizing step of immobilizing a second compound 12 having a binding site binding to the first compound 14 and more readily immobilizable on the solid-phase surface 10 than the first compound 14 on the solid-phase surface 10 according to the pattern.
