PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of an encoder sensor caused by mist by reducing the adhesion of the mist to the encoder sensor used for the sensing of the position of a carriage without using a new control means such as an electronic part by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The encoder sensor unit in which the encoder sensor to sense an encoder strip 8 is arranged in a housing. External through holes 67 to insert the encoder strip are formed at both ends of the housing 71. Internal protrusions 55 each having an internal through hole 68 for inserting the encoder strip are formed on both sides of the encoder sensor 51 in the housing 71.
