The frame-form axle bracket, and especially a rear axle bracket, for a motor vehicle consists of two cross members and two longitudinal members which are formed by closed hollow profiles with a wall thickness in the order of magnitude of 3 mm to 6 mm. The axle bracket is manufactured from an aluminum alloy in one piece in a chilled casting process by the use of at least one disposable core.
