PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryptosporidium deactivating technique capable of more certainly deactivating cryptosporidium, capable of reducing the energy consumption due to heating and also easy in offensive smell measure. SOLUTION: In dehydrating sludge caused by water treatment using a dehydrator, a dehydrator 2 with a heating function is used not only to dehydrate sludge to form a cake K2 but also to heat the cake K2 to a predetermined deactivating temperature for a predetermined time to deactivate cryptosporidium in the cake K2.
