<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which can meet the demands of ambient lighting for various usages, using a back light with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 2 equipped with a liquid crystal panel 3, the back light 4 which lights the liquid crystal panel 3 via a light guide plate 40 arranged opposite to the back, and a panel housing storing those is equipped with a light source tube 42 and a reflector 43, and a light source unit 41 is constituted by mounting a lens 45 in a light projection hole 44 bored in the reflector 43, and is operated from outside the panel housing 20 to be rotated on an axis along an edge of the light guide plate 40, to realize a liquid crystal irradiation position, where the light projection hole 44 is directed to the light guide plate 40 and an external irradiation position where the light projection hole 44 is directed to light guide holes 24 and 25 bored in the panel housing 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
