PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which prevents offset that colorant particles for forming an image are stuck to a fixing roll or an oil roll, a paper jam caused by sticking to the fixing roll of a recording medium, or the like by preventing the fixing roll and the recording medium from being electrified. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a pair of fixing rolls at least one of which is a heat roll and which fix an image on the recording medium by holding and carrying the recording medium having the image formed thereon, a release agent applying means which applies a conductive release agent to at least one of the pair of fixing rolls, and a grounding means which electrically grounds the conductive release agent.
