ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR AND ELECTROLYTE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor and an electrolyte battery which prevent leakage of electrolyte and invasion of moisture from outside.

SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor is provided with a cell 2 where a pair of polarizable electrodes 20 and 21 in which electrolyte is impregnated are oppositely disposed through a separator 6. Current collection electrodes 3 and 30 are fitted to the polarizable electrodes 20 and 21. The peripheral part of the cell 2 is closed by a sealing member 4 made of synthetic resin. The current collection electrodes 3 and 30 pass through the sealing member 4 while they are brought into close contact with the sealing member 4, and they extend to the outer side of the sealing member 4. Metal plated layers 5 are formed in parts passing through the sealing member 4 on the current collection electrodes 3 and 30.
