PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, since directional characteristics exist in the direction parallel to a plurality of microphone units because disposing positions of the microphone units are fixed, when stereo characteristics and super-directional characteristics are collectively provided in the same configuration, it is further necessary to add the microphone unit and to overcome the problem of the complicated configuration. SOLUTION: A voice recorder includes a plurality of the microphone units arranged at intervals separated from one another on a straight line, a microphone unit direction detection circuit for determining the state of the array of the microphone units arranged on the straight line, and a directional synthesizer circuit which creates desired directional characteristics based on outputs of the direction information of the microphone units of the microphone unit direction detection circuit from output voice signals from the first to N-th microphones.
