PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear reactor capable of restraining thermal spike, and capable of flattening a core output while securing the integrity of fuel. SOLUTION: In this nuclear reactor of the present invention, a ratio accounted for with a fissile material of total heavy metal substances filled in a fuel pin 31a in a fuel assembly faced to a neutron reflector 32 is reduced relatively compared with a ratio accounted for with a fissile material of total heavy metal substances filled in a fuel pin 31c in a fuel assembly distant from the neutron reflector 32.
