PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens moving mechanism and an imaging apparatus smoothly acting, also, capable of obtaining a clear image, and also, capable of attaining the miniaturization at low cost. SOLUTION: When a knob 24 is oscillated in one direction, a 1st engagement surface 44A is engaged with a 1st flat surface 5404A, and also, a 2nd engagement surface 46A is engaged with a 3rd flat surface 5604A, and then, an inner cylindrical member 32 is positioned along the axial direction of an outer cylindrical member 34, and a macro-photographing mode is set. On the other hand, when the knob 24 is oscillated in the other direction, the 1st engagement surface 44A is engaged with a 2nd flat surface 5404C, and also, the 2nd engagement surface 46A is engaged with a 4th flat surface 5604C, then, the inner cylindrical member 32 is positioned along the axial direction of the outer cylindrical member 34, and a normal photographing mode is set.
