Cold air chambers (15) are provided for supplying cooling air to a stator. The cold air chambers form an integral part of the base frame (14) to which the stator (12) is attached. Preferably, the cold air chambers are divided along a horizontal central plane into respective separate upper part (15a) and lower part (15b). The lower part is an integral part of the base frame, and the upper part is connected to the lower part, forming a closed cold air chamber.
