Control of lighting devices with a central AC/DC cascaded converter

The method involves adjusting load of DC-output circuits using a centrally cascaded AC/DC converter (19) of a central unit. The AC/DC converter is designed from parallel switched power factor correction (PFC)-modules (14, 14`, 14``). A cascaded DC/DC converter is fed to the PFC modules and provides different output voltages. The DC/DC converter is used for dimming of luminous medium-operating devices. An independent claim is also included for a control system for luminous medium-operating devices.
