Measuring image sensor system performance, uses Gaussic adapt function to modulate sensor signal

Sensor signal modulation is performed using a Gaussic adapt function. The sensor system comprises a number of independent components each having a modulation transfer performance. In this method the system is focused onto a test object with one or more ideal steps adapted to the system, a sampled step response from the system is analyzed, signal information is modulated using an adapt function with constants adapted to sample points in the response, the adapt function is differentiated and the modulation transfer performance is obtained as a Fourier transform of the differentiated adapt function.
