The present invention relates to as aqueous reducing composition, for the first step of a process to permanently reshape the hair, comprising in a cosmetically acceptable medium, (i) at least one reducing agent, and (ii) at least one organic, inorganic or hybrid solid material, forming a thr ee- dimensional repeating lattice capable of entrapping one or more metal ions o r complexes and which has been modified by incorporating at least one oxidizin g species selected from the group consisting of transition metals use as salts , oxides or complexes with a ligand.
