PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a contact point material for a vacuum valve, capable of further improving a blocking performance by sharp examination of the a structure of a volume ratio and a particle radius of each element, based on a knowledge that the structure of the volume ratio and the particle radius of each element influences the blocking performance. SOLUTION: The contact point material for a vacuum valve is obtained by sintering a mixture of powder of Cu, Cr, Mo and Nb as main materials. When the total amount of Nb and Mo is 20 to 45 vol%, Mo/Nb (volume ratio) is 1.5 to 3.5, the amount of Cr is Y vol% and the amount of Mo is X vol%, Y for the amount of Cr is to be within the range of±6 vol% of Y=(-0.55X+37) at each peak of embodiments 1 and 4, 2 and 5, as well as embodiments 3 and 6.
