<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece with a calendar display function in which electric power consumption is reduced and a switch layout is optimized by reducing load torque of mechanical switches and making them compact. <P>SOLUTION: The mechanical switches for detecting months are constituted of a power terminal 98T1, a first detection terminal 98T2 for detecting February, and a second detection terminal 98T3 for detecting even months, which are provided for the same circumference centering on both a spring contact 98 provided for a supporting shaft 81 of the month detection wheel 80 and a shaft 81 of the month detection wheel 80. In the case that a month to be displayed is February, the spring contact 98 comes into contact with the power terminal 98T1 and the first detection terminal 98T2.
