PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olefin polymerization catalyst composition and a method for producing an olefin polymer by using the same. SOLUTION: The olefin polymerization catalyst composition comprises a combination of o-phosphinoaniline compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are the same or different and each a 6-14 aryl group; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, and R<SP>6</SP>are the same or different and each is hydrogen, a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group, a 6-14 aryl group or the like; R<SP>7</SP>is hydrogen, a 1-6C alkyl group or a 6-14 aryl group; and in R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, and R<SP>6</SP>, the adjacent groups may be bonded to each other to form a ring) and a transition metal of group 8-10 in the periodic table.
