A first tube is secured to the jetty (1) by an elastic holder (3) at one end and to a vertically oriented second tube (4) at the other end. A float (5) is secured to the bottom end of the second tube and has a buoyancy or upthrust which is at least three times the weight of the entire berth. The second tube is long enough for the float to lie beneath the keel line of the moored boat. A tensioned length adjustable cable (6) extends between the second tube and a ballast body (8) on the water bed.
