PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which prevents the consolidation of silica fume while increasing its bulk density, facilitating its handleability, and exhibiting such effects as to increase its strength. SOLUTION: The method for preventing the consolidation of silica fume comprises mixing the silica fume with a polyalkylene glycol and grinding the mixture under agitation. In one embodiment of this method, 0.1 to 10 pts.wt. polyalkylene glycol is used per 100 pts.wt. silica fume. Alternative method for preventing the consolidation of silica fume comprises mixing the silica fume with a polyalkylene glycol and water and grinding the mixture under agitation.
