PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recommendation system and a program recommendation method for presenting a program suited for user's taste to the user with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The program recommendation system is provided with a user interface for inputting an answer of a question to the user, a taste information generation means to generate the user taste information on the basis of the answer, a storage means to store the generated user taste information, a search means to search the program suited for the user's taste using the taste information stored in the storage means and a program guide information, and a display control means to control a list of the searched programs to be displayed as recommended programs in the display means so that the user can obtain the list of the programs suited for its taste as the recommended programs just by inputting the answer for the question.
