PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely erase commercials. SOLUTION: When an image signal having commercials CM11, CM12 and CM13 inserted between main sections A-11 and A-12, and a commercial CM14 inserted after the main section A-12 is received, the commercials CM11 to CM14 are detected, and stored as CM indexes in a CM index server 53. ON a later day when an image signal having commercials CM11, CM12 and CM13 inserted between main sections B-11 and B-12 and a commercial CM14 inserted after the main section B-12 is received, the CM indexes CM11, CM12, CM13 and CM14 stored in the CM index server 53 are compared with the received signals to detect the commercials contained in the received signals and to erase them.
