<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recycling a H<SB>2</SB>S removing material made of a ceramic honeycomb which carries a composite metal oxide containing Mn. <P>SOLUTION: The H<SB>2</SB>S removing material after use of the H<SB>2</SB>S removing material made of the ceramic honeycomb carrying the composite metal oxide containing Mn is subjected to washing treatment in a heated alkali aqueous solution or heat treatment in a vacuum to remove S (sulfur) deposed on a surface.
