A light has a light-source (3) and a reflector (9) spaced from the light source where the light source radiates light on to the reflector (9) and light is reflected away from the reflector. A tubular light conducting element (5) is used and has a cavity (7) with at least partly reflecting walls, where the light source and the reflector (9) are arranged so that the cavity or a part of it extends between the light source (3) and the reflector (9), such that the light of the light-source (3) is beamed into the cavity (7) and light propagates in the cavity in a direction away from the lamp and is made incident on to the reflector (9). The tubular light-conducting element (5) is fixed in a vertical direction and the reflector lies over the light source or the light has a device for placing in a vertical orientation so that the reflector lies over the light source (3).
