PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing reducing shocks caused by a rapid speed change in changing gear of a mechanical transmission. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the electric reel for fishing comprising a spool driving motor for winding a spool rotatably supported on the body of the reel, a reduction gearing installed on the driving system of the spool for transmitting rotating force of the spool driving motor to the spool with reduced speed and a mechanical transmission changing rotating speed of the spool in high speed state and low speed state, wherein the reel is provided with a controlling means controlling the output of the spool driving motor installed on the body of the reel, and configured to reduce the shock caused by the rapid speed change in speed changing by controlling the output of the motor with the controlling means in gear changing of the mechanical transmission.
