PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to view the rest of content with a simple operation even if a client is switched by applying to, e.g. the monitor device of a home network, with respect to a content providing device, a content providing method, a program of the content providing method, a recording medium recording the program of the content providing method, and a content providing system.

SOLUTION: This device directly informs another device about content information for specifying the content in which viewing is interrupted and time information indicating a point at which the viewing is interrupted.
