PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal type rotary compressor restraining oil discharged into a sealed container from a bearing part of a rotary shaft, from intruding into refrigerant gas of medium pressure. SOLUTION: An electric element 5 and a rotary compression element 6 are disposed in the horizontally-placed sealed container 1, and the refrigerant gas of medium pressure compressed by a low stage side rotary compression element 8 is discharged into the sealed container 1. A main frame 16 mounted to a high stage side rotary compression element 9 is provided with a bearing part 16a and a silencing chamber 16b at the outer periphery of the bearing part 16a. An open face of the silencing chamber 16b is blocked with a cover plate 17. A baffle plate 18 is mounted to the outer periphery of the cover plate 17 to partition the inside of the sealed container 1, and differential pressure is generated on the electric element 5 side and the rotary compression element 6 side. An oil recovery means 19 is provided to surround the outer periphery of the bearing part 16a. The oil recovery means 19 is formed of an oil receiving member 20 formed almost in cap shape, and its flange part 20a is fixedly mounted to the cover plate 17. A side end part is provided with a hole 20b for the rotary shaft 7 to pass through, and a bottom part is provided with an oil escape hole 20c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
