PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which is not required to hold correction information for each installation area of an opponent side communication device, and moreover, is also not required to set an equalizer for each communication with the opponent side communication device. SOLUTION: A communication quality detecting part detects the communication quality of the communication with the opponent side communication device (S12) on the basis of a reference signal transmitted from the transmission opponent side communication device connected via the closest exchange by a line, in which losses tend to occur during communication, and installed at the same place as a complex machine (S11). A correction value calculating means calculates a correction value for communication setting to make the communication with the transmission opponent side communication device proper on the basis of the communication quality detected by the communication quality detecting part (S13). A communication value setting part changes the communication setting on the basis of the correction value calculated by the correction value calculating part (S15). By this, transmission losses or the like in the line used by the communication device in the area of the closest exchange can be compensated.
