<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new material having functions higher than those of a carbon fiber by imparting electroconductivity and thermal conductivity to a natural fiber while keeping the characteristics originally possessed by the natural fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon nanotube is applied to the surface of the natural fiber by mixing the carbon nanotube with a surfactant in an amount of 5-20 times as much as the weight of the carbon nanotube, further adding distilled water thereto to provide a slurry-shaped treating liquid, soaking or impregnating the natural fiber in or with the treating liquid to cover the surface of the natural fiber with the carbon nanotube. Any surfactant of nonionic, anionic and cationic surfactants can be used as the surfactant, but the nonionic or anionic surfactant is preferably used in practical application. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
