PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of pouring nearly all of molten steel in the tundish without any operator's operation at the casting end stage completing the pouring of the molten steel from a ladle into the tundish and also minimizing the flow-out of slag in a tundish into a mold. SOLUTION: When continuous casting is performed by pouring the molten steel 12 into the mold 2 through a sliding nozzle 3 from the tundish 1, since completing the pouring of the molten steel from the ladle into the tundish, the opening degree of the sliding nozzle is watched and it is determined that the time point when the variation speed of the opening degree of the sliding nozzle is rapidly risen up, as the time point for completing the pouring of the molten steel from the tundish, and the sliding nozzle is automatically closed.
