<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set sound to conform to a situation. <P>SOLUTION: When content data is started to reproduce, it is determined whether video data is included in the content data. When it is determined that the video data is included, data on speakers are read. The data on speakers comprises information on the number of arranged speakers, the positions where the speakers are arranged and the like. Such data are produced by executing processing which a user preliminarily sets, and parameters are set by using such data. The output of a voice is controlled by using the parameters thus set. The control is made, for example, as if the voice was emitted from a monitor displaying a video.
