<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic ink composition with an excellent forgery prevention measure, which can be used for valuable goods such as negotiable securities, cards, stamps, goods taggings, trafficking tickets such as tickets and commuting pass, coupon tickets for toll roads, various tickets and gift certificates. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic ink composition has characteristics having an absorption band in the range from the ultraviolet to visible region and giving transparency in the infrared region. The amount of remanent magnetization is 25-35A×m<SP>2</SP>/kg(emu/g). The magnetic ink composition contains a magnetic material and vehicles with average particle diameter of 10-600 nm.
