PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a device which needs smaller space, which generates less noise, and which effectively damps vibration of a compensating means when incorporated. SOLUTION: This elevator facility is provided with an elevator car, a counterweight 2, a suspension means to suspend the elevator car and the counterweight 2, and the compensating means 7 to compensate the effects of weight of the suspension means.
