PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an overhead conveyor capable of changing a height of an article to be carried to the height suitable for the work. SOLUTION: The conveyor is equipped with a carrier 2 connected to fore and aft trolleys 4, 4 engaging with a traveling rail R, a hanger 3 capable of changing an engaging state and the releasing state with the carrier 2, a toe bar 23 constituting an approximate L shape vertical rocking three links mechanism connecting the carrier 2 with the hanger 3, and an engaging/releasing switching means switching between the engaging state and the releasing state. The switching means enables switching between the state where the hanger 3 moves integrally with the carrier 2 by the engaging/releasing switching means as the engaging state, and the state where the hanger 3 moves by being towed with a tow bar 23 with being supported by a hanger guide rail HR disposed at the lower side of the traveling rail R.
