PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a higher-quality image by firmly attaching an electro-optical device held in a mounting case to a projection-type display device, and preventing such an attachment from influencing the electro-optical device. SOLUTION: The mounting case is constituted of a plate arranged facing one surface of the electro-optical device and a cover, having a part covering the electro-optical device and abutting against the plate. The cover is equipped with a window part for making light from a light source incident on the electro-optical device, a tapered part for guiding cooling air toward the window part and an attaching part which is attached to the part to be attached of the projection-type display device at the tapered part.
