A partial polarization member (35) is provided on a second substrate (5). The partial polarization member (35) is provided corresponding to an aperture (22) of a reflection film (21), and is not provided in other areas that overlap with reflectors of a reflection film (21). Therefore, light that is incident from a backlight (41) is reflected by the reflection film (21) and returns to the backlight (41), without generating loss due to absorption or the like. The light that returns to the backlight (41) is reflected by a backlight reflection film (42) of the backlight (41), and is output to the aperture (22) of the reflection film (21). As a result, more light can be output to an observer side from the aperture (22) of the reflection film (21). |
