The washer has an annular part (11) extending along a lower plane of two parallel upper and lower planes. The part (11) has a flat outer plate for distribution of load on coil of stator and protection of the coil and an elastic inner plate for retaining the coil so that the coil is not moved under mechanical stresses. An annular part (12) forms a circumferential flange (13) perpendicular to the annular part (11). An independent claim is also included for an electromagnetic retarder for a motor vehicle and having a pressure washer.
