PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a benzofuran derivative having a phosphodiesterase (PDE)-IV-inhibiting action. SOLUTION: This benzofuran derivative represented by general formula (I) [X-Y-Z is O-C=CR6(R6is H or the like), or the like; R1is H, cyano, a substituted on non-substituted lower alkyl, or the like; R2is amino, a substituted on non-substituted lower alkyl, or the like; R3and R4are each identically or differently H or the like; R5is H or the like; W is N or CH; (n) is an integer of 0 to 2, provided that (n) is an integer of 1 or 2, when R5and W are H and N, respectively] or its pharmacologically acceptable salt.
