<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight system for a vehicle capable of improving distance visibility of a driver by forming a luminous intensity distribution pattern with reference to a gazing point of the driver when a vehicle travelling in a high-speed area turns. <P>SOLUTION: The headlight system 1 for the vehicle comprises head lamps 2R and 2L of which optical axis angles with respect to the straight motion direction of the vehicle vary, an area determining section 36 for determining whether the vehicle travels in a low-speed area or a high-speed area, a curvature calculating section 37 for calculating a curvature of at least one of a road where the vehicle is traveling or a road where the vehicle will travel, and an optical axis control section 38 for varying the optical axis angles of the head lamps 2R and 2L with respect to the straight motion direction of the vehicle based on the determined area and the curvature of the calculated road. The optical axis control section 38 changes the variation of the optical axis angles of the head lamps 2R and 2L based on the curvature calculated by the curvature calculating section 37 in response to the area determined by the area determining section 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
