PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of the status of a plurality of detachable storage media intelligibly. SOLUTION: The image input device 10 is provided which can be attached with detachable storage media 11A and 11B; and has an attaching means 106A to be attached with the storage means 11A, an attaching means 106B to be attached with the storage means 11B, and a display means 107 having a plurality of display modes. The device 10 sets the display means 107 at a first display mode when only the status of the storage medium 11A is displayed and sets the display means 107 at a second display mode when only the status of the storage medium 11B is displayed.
