PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the channel switching time through little addition of hardware in a digital terrestrial broadcast receiver for receiving and decoding digital terrestrial broadcast. SOLUTION: When a program receiving channel, i.e, the receiving channel at a first front end section 4, is not switched by a system controller 10, a change-over switch 16 is controlled and the receiving channel at a second front end section 5 is switched. With regard to all receivable channels, extra information required for receiving a broadcast program multiplexed to TS data is separated and analyzed at a second TS-DEMUX 18 and then stored in a storage section 19. When the program receiving channel is switched from a first channel to a second channel, extra information stored in the storage section 19 is set in a first TS-DEMUX 7 so that video data and audio data can be separated immediately from TS data TS0.
