PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer for positioning a tip part of a label and a tag capable of reading-in/writing-in and providable for the circulation on a printing position, without wasting an RFID continuous body such as the label and the tag with built-in RFID, when supplying a power source and after replacing the RFID continuous body. SOLUTION: This printer has a detecting mark at equal intervals by a carrying means 4 when starting the printer 1, and detects the detecting mark by a detecting means 5 while carrying the RFID continuous body 20 forming a printing medium piece with built-in RFID part to the downstream side between the detecting marks, and normally detects a pitch between the detecting marks by reading the RFID part by an RFID reading/writing means 6, and positions the tip part of the normally read printing medium piece in a printing means 7 when normally reading the RFID part of the printing medium piece by the RFID reading/writing means 6.
