<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device of an image forming apparatus which can be operated easily even by a person unfamiliar to that device. <P>SOLUTION: The operation input device of an image forming apparatus comprises a means for storing the function selected for each image forming operation, and a means for judging a function setting key of high selection frequency based on data stored in the selected function storing means. A function setting control means is provided with a layout altering means for displaying a function setting key of highest selection frequency judged by the selection frequency judging means at a predetermined position on the function setting screen of each class, and a display mode setting control means for setting operability of the layout altering means.
