PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack guide capable of eliminating generation of abnormal noise attributable to set-in of a coil spring by omitting the coil spring, and a rack pinion type steering device using the rack guide. SOLUTION: The rack guide 10 used for the rack pinion type steering device 1 comprises a rack guide body 23 having a semi-cylindrical recessed surface 21 slidably in contact with a semi-cylindrical outer circumferential surface 15 of a rack bar 9 and a bearing surface 22 under the pressure F toward the rack bar 9, an annular elastically-deformable member 24 arranged on the bearing surface 22 side of the rack guide body 23, and an annular pressing member 25 to apply the pressure F toward the rack bar 9 to the elastically-deformable member 24.
