<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein, a normal catalyst has a poor thermal shock resistance against thermal expansion and contraction, and a production method of defect has a difficulty for producing defects in cordierite as a catalyst having high thermal shock resistance and NO<SB>x</SB>occlusion capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A ceramic base body having NO<SB>x</SB>occlusion capacity and containing a noble metal catalyst is carried on a base body material using a tungsten multiple oxide or molybdenum multiple oxide expressed by a chemical formula, ((R<SP>4+</SP>M<SP>2+</SP>)<SB>1-y</SB>A<SP>3+</SP><SB>2y</SB>)(QO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>3</SB>. Thus, NO<SB>x</SB>occlusion capacity and the noble metal catalyst can be easily carried, and as heat expansion coefficients of these are almost same, a high thermal shock resistance can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
