CERAMIC BASE BODY CARRYING ELEMENT HAVING NOX OCCLUSION CAPACITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein, a normal catalyst has a poor thermal shock resistance against thermal expansion and contraction, and a production method of defect has a difficulty for producing defects in cordierite as a catalyst having high thermal shock resistance and NOxocclusion capacity.

SOLUTION: A ceramic base body having NOxocclusion capacity and containing a noble metal catalyst is carried on a base body material using a tungsten multiple oxide or molybdenum multiple oxide expressed by a chemical formula, ((R4+M2+)1-yA3+2y)(QO4)3. Thus, NOxocclusion capacity and the noble metal catalyst can be easily carried, and as heat expansion coefficients of these are almost same, a high thermal shock resistance can be obtained.
