PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium for a hologram memory which is lower in cost and more practicable by eliminating the need for a cartridge to be exclusively used for the medium for hologram memory. SOLUTION: The medium for hologram memory having a recording layer for recording information of object light as interference fringes by irradiation with the object light and reference light, has a switch layer for controlling the incidence of light to the recording layer.
