PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely detect the short-circuit of a linear solenoid even in a case that the indicated current value of the linear solenoid frequently changes. SOLUTION: A voltage monitor circuit 7 detects a change of the connector-terminal voltage that corresponds to the change of the resistance value of the solenoid 1, and inputs a control signal that corresponds to the detected connector-terminal voltage to the A/D port of a CPU 4. The CPU 4 detects the short-circuit of the linear solenoid 1 according to the control signal inputted from the voltage monitor circuit 7. Thereby, the CPU 4 securely detects the short-circuit of the linear solenoid 1 even in a case that the indicated current value of the linear solenoid 1 frequently changes.
