<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food cooking method and apparatus capable of performing both baking and steaming processes in cooking, in which a raw food material A put in a cooker body can be heated by heaters and at the same time steamed therein because the moisture contained in the raw food material is turned into vapor at a high temperature within the cooker body made airtight. <P>SOLUTION: This cooking apparatus is provided with a cooker body (1) equipped with a lower cooking plate (3) having a built-in heater (3)a, and a lid (4) equipped with an upper cooking plate (6) having a built-in heater (6)a, above and in opposition to the lower cooking plate (3). The lid (4) is pivotally fixed on top of the cooker body (1).
