PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving operation auxiliary apparatus for a vehicle capable of controlling braking and driving force so as not to obstruct driving operation of a driver in accordance with circumstances around the vehicle.

SOLUTION: A controller calculates contact risk potential of an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle, and controls braking and driving force based on the contact risk potential. When the own vehicle exceeds the preceding vehicle and the preceding vehicle separates from a control target, correction is carried out until the actual braking and driving force is gradually increased to the driving force required by the driver. At that time, a return rate of the actual braking and driving force is set in accordance with an accelerator pedal operation amount so as not to prevent acceleration operation of the driver in passing the preceding vehicle.
