PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method capable of managing image processing easily without exerting a significant load to a CPU even in the state that there are a large number of image data, a large quantity of information for managing the image data, etc. SOLUTION: Packet data are generated, by adding a header in which image processing information is described to image data. The packet data generated is transferred among image processing function parts 202 to 205 through a cross bar switch 201. In each of the image processing parts 202 to 205, the packet data is input, image processing of the image data is implemented on the basis of the image processing information described in the header, and the packet data in which the header of which image processing information is rewritten is added to the image data after processing are generated and output.
